Resurfaced video clip reveals Biden’s garbled speech during campaign event

President Joe Biden has long faced speculation that he is suffering from age-related cognitive decline.

A video clip recently shared by one of his fiercest critics in Congress is bolstering such concerns among some voters.

“Not surprising, sadly”

U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) shared the clip on Twitter after highlighting a flubbed line in the president’s remarks.

“It’s almost the end of 2021 and I’ve yet to see Biden mobilize truinternatialdepressure like he promised,” she wrote. “What’s the hold up?”

When her nonsensical post left some Twitter users confused, she followed up with another tweet, declaring: “I see many of the uninformed basement dwellers missed this moment of Biden’s campaign. Not surprising, sadly.”

From the context of his remarks, it appears that Biden had been attempting to say the phrase “true international pressure,” during a campaign speech last year, though his slurred speech made the garbled sounds incomprehensible.

“Directly from a face-on monitor”

Of course, this was neither the first nor last Biden statement that struck many Americans as alarming.

During a campaign stop in New Hampshire, he seemed to forget which state he was in. He told voters in South Carolina that he was running for a seat in the U.S. Senate. In yet another mix-up, he apparently confused his wife with his sister.

He has also attracted criticism for misrepresenting his own past, including the claim in February 2020 that he was jailed in apartheid South Africa for attempting to visit Nelson Mandela. Snopes rated the story as false after contacting former United Nations Ambassador Andrew Young, whom Biden claimed was on the trip with him.

Since becoming president, Biden has raised eyebrows for behavior such as holding press conferences in a studio near the White House. Former Trump administration adviser Stephen Miller opined that the arrangement “allows him to read a script directly from a face-on monitor,” something the president could not do in the White House without media scrutiny.
