Ron Johnson presses Biden admin to clarify if taxpayers are subsidizing the border crisis

The Biden administration has done seemingly everything in its power to foment a foreign invasion at America’s southern border. To add insult to injury, they’re making Americans pay for it.

A leaked memo directing the federal government to smuggle immigrants into the nation’s interior at taxpayer expense sparked a sharply worded letter from Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) to the Biden regime, Fox News reported.

Johnson demands answers

Johnson asked for a clear answer on whether non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that work with the federal government to feed, shelter, and transport immigrants are being reimbursed with Americans’ money, citing recent reports from NBC and Fox News.

“Taxpayer dollars should be used to secure our border not further exacerbate the Biden border crisis,” Johnson said in a June 22 letter.

A new, leaked Department of Homeland Security (DHS) policy reported by NBC would have the government use federal funds to finance immigrants’ travel to shelters in cities like Los Angeles, Albuquerque, Houston, and Dallas to alleviate “overcrowding” near the border that Biden’s policies have created.

Biden officials have jokingly called it the “Abbott plan,” after Texas governor Greg Abbott’s (R) policy of busing illegal immigrants to Washington, D.C.

Illegal immigration has repeatedly broken records on Biden’s watch. He is on pace to set another this fiscal year, with more than 1.7 million illegal immigrants already apprehended, compared to 1.9 million in all of 2021.

Biden subsidizing invasion

According to the Biden administration’s own court filings in its legal fight to end the Trump administration’s “Remain in Mexico” policy, DHS has released over 1 million immigrants into the interior.

That’s not all. The Washington Examiner reports that Biden officials are dropping tens of thousands of immigration cases from a bloated backlog of 2 million under a new removal policy that excludes large numbers of illegals from deportation, including those who entered the U.S. before November 2020.

An ICE prosecutor called it a “de facto amnesty.”

To recap, Biden is releasing hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants into the country, paying for their travel with Americans’ money, and dropping deportation proceedings against untold numbers of foreign nationals already living in the U.S. at great public expense.

In effect, Biden is using the public purse to subsidize an invasion of the homeland. How is this legal?
