Former White House physician Ronny Jackson is now a U.S. congressman from Texas — and a persistent critic of President Joe Biden.
His latest reference to the president’s perceived cognitive decline came in a bold prediction that Biden will either be forced to resign or be removed from office under the 25th Amendment.
“It’s only going to get worse”
Jackson made his noteworthy remarks during an appearance on Fox News Channel’s Hannity this week.
“I’ve been saying that it’s only going to get worse,” he said of Biden’s cognitive health. “And guess what? We’re watching that happen right before our eyes right now.”
Noting that he has been “telling people we should be concerned about what might be potentially going on” with the president, Jackson said that his fears are now even closer to becoming reality.
“Where are the people in our academic medicine that were out there calling for President Trump to have a cognitive test?” he asked.
“There’s something concerning happening”
“There’s something seriously going on with this man right now,” Jackson continued. “And you know, I think that he’s either gonna, he’s either gonna resign, they’re going to convince him to resign from office at some point in the near future for medical issues, or they’re going to have to use the 25th Amendment to get rid of this man right now.”
He said he continues to sound off on the topic because it “is a national security issue at this point.”
In previous remarks about the current president, Jackson insisted: “You don’t need to be a physician to look at [Biden’s] behavior and see there’s something concerning happening.”
Biden is set to undergo a physical examination later this year, though it is unclear whether it will include a cognitive assessment. Of course, Jackson is not alone in expressing concerns about Biden’s fitness for the job amid frequent gaffes, incoherence, and apparent bouts of confusion throughout his public statements and press conferences.
Conservative commentator Dan Bongino offered a grim take on the issue last month, declaring: “We have a guy in the White House right now who by any objective measures, it’s not — listen, I’m a conservative I don’t like Joe Biden’s policies but I’m not trying to make this personal here, by any objective measure, the man is clearly compromised.”
