Rudy Giuliani is in the hospital after coming down with the coronavirus, the Washington Examiner reported Sunday.
The former New York City mayor and attorney for President Donald Trump has received an outpouring of support since the president announced Giuliani’s positive test result Sunday.
Trump announces news
As Trump acknowledged, Giuliani was in the middle of working to pursue Trump’s claims of voter fraud in swing states when he was knocked out of commission by the “China virus.”
“Rudy Giuliani, by far the greatest mayor in the history of NYC, and who has been working tirelessly exposing the most corrupt election (by far!) in the history of the USA, has tested positive for the China Virus,” Trump tweeted Sunday. “Get better soon Rudy, we will carry on!!!”
Giuliani, 76, is at a higher risk from the virus because of his age. Trump, 74, was hospitalized with the coronavirus prior to the election.
Giuliani was taken Sunday to Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C., the Los Angeles Times reported. On Sunday morning, he was on Fox News speaking with host Maria Bartiromo about the election, Fox News reported.
The lawyer said Sunday night that he was “feeling good” and suggested he is following his legal team’s efforts.
“Thank you to all my friends and followers for all the prayers and kind wishes,” Giuliani tweeted. “I’m getting great care and feeling good. Recovering quickly and keeping up with everything.”
Voter fraud saga continues
Giuliani’s son Andrew also shared that his father was doing well. “My Dad…is resting, getting great care and feeling well. Thank you to all the friends who have reached out concerned about his well being,” he tweeted Sunday.
Many others shared their support for “America’s Mayor” as he continues to challenge the election results. “Mayor Rudy Giuliani, America’s Mayor, is giving everything he has fighting for a fair and legal election. Very proud of you. Get well Rudy! God Bless,” conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh tweeted.
But the news prompted some predictably bitter responses, with liberal celebrities mocking Giuliani and accusing him of exposing others to the virus, as Newsweek reported.
Giuliani has been holding hearings on election fraud in states where former Vice President Joe Biden has been declared the winner by close margins. In Georgia last week, Giuliani shared surveillance video purporting to show a “bank heist” of voter fraud taking place.
