NFL legend Tom Brady made headlines last month when he announced his retirement from professional football. Still, some observers say his absence may be short lived.

Daily Caller contributor Andrew Powell wrote on Tuesday that his "dream of Tom Brady going to the Miami Dolphins is still alive" following comments made by the NFL Network's Rich Eisen.

"Tom Brady might not be done after all"

"This one just blew my mind: Tom Brady might not be done after all," Eisen said as he covered the NFL Scouting Combine week in Indianapolis.

"A couple people were just like, 'Hang on, just you wait.' And I was like, 'He’s Instagramming out pictures of his cat," Eisen continued.

"But it doesn’t look like he’s getting big and fat, does it? Let it play out. Let’s see who wants what," Eisen insisted before suggesting that Brady could end up playing for the Miami Dolphins.

Brady's children live in Miami

Meanwhile, NBC's "Pro Football Talk" pointed out how Brady's children reside in Miami, making the city an ideal place for a comeback.

Sports journalist Dov Kleiman tapped into the issue as well, tweeting, "Tom Brady might not be 'done after all' with his playing in the NFL, according to [Rich Eisen] who talked to people in Indy."

Brady dismisses talk of a comeback

However, despite the rumors and speculation, Brady himself was quick to deny that he has any plans to get back on the field.

"Anyone who thinks I have time to come back to the NFL has never adopted a 2 month old kitten for their daughter," Brady joked in a tweet on Tuesday.

FiveThirtyEight contributor Neil Paine argued in 2021 that Brady is among the greatest quarterbacks in football history, putting him alongside Peyton Manning and Joe Montana.
