Many Americans were saddened when beloved comedian and television star Bob Saget was found dead over the weekend at the age of 65.
Authorities have since released new details about the state of his hotel room, where he was found deceased. Reportedly, authorities found no signs of foul play or other suspicious activity in the room.
The Associated Press cited a report from Florida’s Orange County Sheriff’s Office as revealing that nothing looked out of place in the hotel room, which is often the case with regard to celebrity deaths.
No drugs, foul play
The report added that there were “items owned by Mr. Saget on the nightstand, television stand, closet and bathroom.”
Chief Medical Examiner Joshua Stephany also provided information concerning the autopsy that was performed on Monday, saying, “At this time, there is no evidence of drug use or foul play.”
The AP added that a final report covering Saget’s cause of death is not expected to be released for another 10 to 12 weeks.
Saget gained national prominence playing the character of Danny Tanner on ABC’s Full House, as well for hosting mega-popular America’s Funniest Home Videos.
The AP quoted a statement released by ABC Entertainment as saying, “We are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of our friend and colleague, Bob Saget, who will always be a member of the ABC family.”
“Whether playing a loving father on Full House or hosting the early years of America’s Funniest Home Videos with his signature wit and charm, Bob always knew how to connect with families through heart and humor.”
The statement concluded with: “Our thoughts are with his family as we mourn the passing of such an incredibly gifted comedian and talent.”
Widow “deeply touched”
The outlet also cited comments from Saget’s widow, Kelly Rizzo Saget, who said, “Bob was my absolute everything.”
“I am so completely shattered and in disbelief,” she said. “I am so deeply touched by the outpouring of love and tribute from our friends, family, his fans and his peers. When the time is right and when this news is not as raw, I look forward to sharing more of Bob with the world.”
