The truth about the “real collusion” is finally coming out. A recently declassified FBI report is more evidence that the Obama-era FBI engaged in a “mass conspiracy to undermine the 2016 election,” former White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said Friday.
“I think this report confirms what we’ve known all along, the level of corruption and how outrageous members of the Obama administration were to try to take down a democratically elected president,” the former spokeswoman said during an appearance with Fox News’ “Outnumbered Overtime” host Harris Faulkner.
“This is the type of stuff that happens in third-world countries, this is not the type of thing that should happen in the United States of America,” Sanders said.
“People like disgraced former FBI director, liar and leaker James Comey, I think, have fingerprints all over this and I think it is a good thing that the administration and the president have held their feet to the fire and made sure we got to the bottom of this,” Sanders continued.
“Because the president and most of the people around him went through hell for the better part of three years fighting back against an outrageous, ridiculous hoax, and now the truth is finally starting to come out and I think this report is just further confirmation of what we’ve known all along,” she added.
The document, a summary of the FBI’s first defensive briefing of the Trump campaign in 2016, was released by Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe on Thursday.
Politico reported that the document strongly suggests that the FBI used the briefing as an opportunity to “monitor” candidate Trump and his adviser Michael Flynn as part of the broader secret counterintelligence investigation known as “Crossfire Hurricane.”
The summary reveals that the FBI agent who delivered the briefing and wrote the notes, Joe Pientka, had been specifically paying attention to any mention of Russia that was made by Trump or Flynn, which could be used to fit the false narrative of collusion and coordination ahead of the 2016 election.
Nothing of significance regarding Russia appeared to have been said by Flynn or Trump, so the briefing/monitoring effort wasn’t particularly fruitful, but as we all know by now, that didn’t stop the FBI from pursuing the elusive Russian collusion rabbit down the hole by way of continued investigation, the debunked Steele dossier, and eventually the Robert Mueller-led special counsel probe.
Evidence of the “real collusion”
Toward the end of the segment, Sanders said that the declassified document “further confirms that there was a mass conspiracy to undermine the 2016 election.”
“There was so much focus talking about Russian collusion when all of the real collusion was going on, unfortunately, in our own buildings, in the FBI, and it was going to try and hurt Donald Trump,” Sanders said.
She concluded that the investigations need to continue and the players involved need to be revealed as part of a larger effort to ensure such subversion never occurs again — not to mention so that the wrongdoers can be held accountable.
