A Facebook “whistleblower” named France Haugen emerged last weekend in what many believe was a well-coordinated rollout of a public relations campaign calling for the social media platform to more aggressively censor “misinformation” or else face increased government regulation.
That echoes the repeated refrain sounded by White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, which isn’t surprising in light of the revelation that the PR firm Haugen is working with is the same firm that employed Psaki prior to her joining President Joe Biden’s team, The Daily Wire reported.
And, as more information about Haugen comes to light, she increasingly appears less like a legitimate “whistleblower,” and more like a Democratic operative engaged in a deceptive effort to advance an agenda on social media censorship of disfavored narratives that have been pushed by the Biden administration and Democrats.
Psaki’s former employer
The Daily Wire pointed to White House ethics disclosures that showed how, up until she joined Biden’s team in Sept. 2020, Psaki had been employed as a senior adviser at a PR firm known as Bryson Gillette, which is run by a team of Democratic operatives who have previously worked for Democratic administrations or members of Congress.
The Washington Free Beacon was the first to report that Facebook “whistleblower” Haugen had teamed up with Bryson Gillette to receive “strategic communications guidance” from the head of that firm, Bill Burton, a former top staffer in the Obama White House.
That “strategic communications guidance” undoubtedly included Haugen’s interview on CBS 60 Minutes, a newly created and immediately verified Twitter account, a personal website for dealing with the media, the leaking of stolen internal documents to The Wall Street Journal, and even testimony delivered in a hastily arranged Senate Commerce Committee hearing — all of which appears highly coordinated but is portrayed as merely coincidental.
Psaki’s former client
Part and parcel of Haugen’s effort to demand government regulation of Facebook and more censorship of non-leftist narratives is a nonprofit group aligned with the Bryson Gillette PR firm known as the Center for Humane Technology, the Free Beacon reported.
Interestingly, according to The Daily Wire, the ethics disclosures for Psaki revealed that the Center for Humane Technology was one of the now-press secretary’s personal clients when she was still employed at Bryson Gillette.
The Free Beacon and Daily Wire both pointed out the striking similarities in anti-Facebook messaging and rhetoric employed by Haugen, Burton, Psaki, the Center for Humane Technology, the Biden administration more broadly, and many Democrats in Congress — again suggesting a level of close coordination in the rollout of Haugen as a purported “whistleblower.”
A partisan activist
That likely reality was further bolstered by a report from The Federalist that pointed to Federal Election Commission (FEC) documents showing Haugen to be a frequent contributor of funds to elected Democrats and Democratic organizations, indicating her status as more of a partisan activist and less of a neutral and detached “whistleblower” raising concerns.
The Federalist also noted that Haugen’s recently hired attorneys, a firm known as Whistleblower Aid, is the same firm that represented the so-called “whistleblower” in former President Donald Trump’s first impeachment, who was also subsequently exposed as an agenda-driven partisan activist with an ax to grind against the then-president.
Once all of the various dots are connected an increasingly scandalous picture comes into view, one in which the press secretary — who has yet to be asked about any of these curious connections — and her current and former comrades all seem to be involved.
