Schiff blames Trump for riots in major Democrat-run cities

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) came out Sunday to join a chorus of Democrats blaming President Donald Trump for the riots in American cities.

In a CNN interview Sunday, the Democratic lawmaker accused Trump of “fanning the flames” of mob violence.

Schiff gaslighting nation about violence

Schiff is a notable foe of Trump’s, and he played infamous roles in promoting the Russian collusion conspiracy theory and spearheading Trump’s impeachment. The Democrat is now putting his glib attitude toward facts to work as Democrats seek to gaslight the nation over summer riots that they trivialized as recently as a week ago, when they took a sharp turn and acknowledged the violence, but blamed Trump for it instead.

Speaking with CNN’s Dana Bash, Schiff said that Trump is deliberately instigating urban chaos to help his presidential campaign, which has made “law and order” a theme.

“The president is willfully fanning the flames of this fire,” Schiff said. “They believe this is helpful to him.”

Schiff’s comments came after a Trump supporter was killed by a member of antifa this weekend in the Democrat-run city of Portland, Oregon, which has been the site of continued, violent unrest for months.

“The president is only motivated by one thing: what is in it for him. He sees this violence and his ability to agitate more of it as useful to this campaign. What it does to the country, the loss of life, he doesn’t care,” Schiff added.

Schiff is evidently not the only one who thinks that the riots may help the president’s campaign.

At a speech in Pittsburgh on Monday, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden sought to dispel the impression that he is soft on lawlessness while accusing his opponent of encouraging an “armed militia” of Trump supporters to act violently. Trump issued a sharp reply.

“Just watched what Biden had to say. To me, he’s blaming the Police far more than he’s blaming the Rioters, Anarchists, Agitators, and Looters, which he could never blame or he would lose the Radical Left Bernie supports!” he tweeted on Monday.

Don’t forget about Russia!

Meanwhile, Schiff seemed to reach peak Schiff when he suggested to CNN that Russians may also be playing a role in the chaos.

“And we have to — they are once again doing their best in social media, in their overt media, and other means to grow these divisions again,” he said. “And I think that most pernicious, we got to — we have to worry about their aggravating these tensions in our cities.”
