Schiff wants Justice Clarence Thomas removed from Jan. 6 case

California Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff wants Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas removed from any case related to Jan. 6.

Schiff made the remarks during a Sunday interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” regarding Ginni Thomas, the wife of Justice Thomas, desiring to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

Off the case

“I think that, at a minimum, it suggests — and I think we know enough to say this already — that Justice Thomas, to avoid even the appearance of impropriety, should have nothing to do with any cases relating to Jan. 6,” Schiff said.

“Particularly regarding our investigation, because we want our justices to uphold a standard that goes beyond what’s lawful or unlawful to avoid even the appearance of a conflict or impropriety,” he added.

What else?

Schiff also noted that more people may be called as witnesses before the Jan. 6 House select committee.

“We’re not taking anything off the table in terms of witnesses who have not yet testified,” Schiff said.

“We’re not excluding anyone or anything at this point,” he added.

The claims come as many Americans are ready for the committee’s work to be over as the nation faces a list of other growing problems, including record-level gas prices and generation high inflation.

The low television ratings of the hearing have also revealed that the work of the committee seems more like Democrats talking to Democrats rather than truly investigating what happened.
