Fox News host Tucker Carlson is known for being one of the most popular figures on cable television — and a major source of revenue for the right-leaning network. However, it seems not everyone who works at Fox is a fan.
As Breitbart reported this week, Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane recently lashed out at Carlson and even suggested he might be looking for another network for his popular comedy show in light of comments by the conservative pundit.
“Tucker Carlson’s latest opinion piece once again makes me wish Family Guy was on any other network,” MacFarlane complained in a tweet Sunday afternoon.
“Look, Fox, we both know this marriage isn’t working anymore. The sex is only once a year, I don’t get along with your mother, and well… I’ve been having an affair with NBC,” he added.
“Embarrassed to work for this company”
Breitbart noted that this is not the first time that the liberal television producer has had harsh words for Fox Corporation. In a since-deleted tweet, MacFarlane similarly expressed embarrassment over being involved with the media conglomerate.
“In other words, don’t think critically, don’t consult multiple news sources, and in general, don’t use your brain,” MacFarlane said of Fox News’ coverage. “Just blindly obey Fox News. This is fringe s**t, and it’s business like this that makes me embarrassed to work for this company.”
Notably, Fox News vice president Michael Tammero has pointed out that MacFarlane’s objections apparently aren’t strong enough to stop him from profiting off his relationship with Fox.
“Yet… NOT quite embarrassed enough to not cash that check … isn’t that right @sethmacfarlane?” Tammero retorted in a tweet of his own.
“What the numbers say”
While MacFarlane did not make clear which of Carlson’s comments that he found objectionable, the host spent much of his Friday broadcast focusing on the Biden administration’s response to COVID-19.
“So the question is: why does the U.S. need more lockdowns?” Carlson asked at one point, according to Fox. “Why the forced masking? Masks are of limited medical value, as the authorities once told us… Yet the Biden administration is now requiring masks. The surgeon general even demanded that vaccinated people wear masks outside.”
Carlson went on: “We’re not even going to repeat for you for the third right in a row the actual data on the question of COVID and young people. Are your small children at risk of dying from COVID?”
The host declared: “No. Not unless they have a profoundly dangerous preexisting condition like Leukemia. In which case, beware. Otherwise, they’ll be fine. That’s what the numbers say.”
