Billionaire George Soros is redoubling his efforts to transform America.
The progressive patron is breaking records with his donations this election cycle, the Washington Free Beacon reported.
Soros doubles 2016 contributions
It’s obvious to all that the stakes are high this election year, and Soros is doing everything he can to make sure the Democrats win.
In his case, that means donating lots and lots of money — at least $50 million, according to the Beacon, and it’s not even August.
His total contributions this cycle are more than double what he gave in 2016, which set a previous record of $22 million — a reflection of just how seriously Soros is taking the election that, he says, will decide the “fate of the world.”
The Hungarian-born financier has laundered $48 million through the super PAC he created last year, Democracy PAC, and top beneficiaries include the House Majority PAC, the Senate Majority PAC, and Planned Parenthood.
He has also poured $4 million directly into Democratic coffers, including the Biden Victory Fund, the Nancy Pelosi Victory Fund, and the Democratic Grassroots Victory Fund.
Supporting racial unrest
His patronage comes at a very combustible moment in American history, as riots unfold in cities across the country with the tacit support of Democratic politicians, the media, and even local prosecutors.
Through his Open Society Foundations, Soros is promising to pour some $220 million into the accounts of various Black Lives Matter-aligned groups. His foundation emphasized that something has been wrong with America “from the dawn of the republic” and that a struggle taking “years” is only just beginning.
“We recognize that the struggle to dismantle systemic racism is an ongoing one; it has existed from the dawn of the republic (emphasis added) to the present day, and is embedded in every level of government and in our penal and justice systems.”
It’s already happening
Toward that end of radically remodeling the justice system, Soros has supported various candidates for local District Attorneys’ offices all across the country, and the fruits of those efforts are now coming to light.
In Missouri, prosecutor Kim Gardner, who received donations from Soros in her race, is prosecuting a St. Louis couple for the crime of defending their property from a mob, and another Soros-supported prosecutor, Philadelphia’s Larry Krasner, has threatened to arrest any federal agents that Trump may send to restore order.
