Source says CNN’s top media reporter kept silent about Zucker affair

Fox News reported that CNN head Jeff Zucker stepped down this week following revelations that he had an affair with Allison Gollust, a colleague and former communications director to disgraced New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

However, an unnamed insider at the network says that there’s someone else there who needs to go as well — Top anchor Brian Stelter.

CNN source complains that Brian Stelter refused to speak up

“The network needs to step up and fire Brian Stelter,” Fox News quoted the anonymous source as telling the Daily Mail.

“He is allegedly our top media reporter – yet he failed to report on the scoop that everyone in the office knew,” the source who was characterized as a “cable news veteran” continued. “And if he wants to say he didn’t know, he is truly terrible at his job.”

The individual insisted that Stelter “should be calling his agent to start looking for another job” as the host has “been Jeff Zucker’s water boy for years and no one believes he didn’t know about all of this.”

“He’s been sitting on his moral high horse doing Jeff’s bidding and ripping Fox and every other media outlet that Jeff tells him to while his ratings crash and burn.”

“Where was he on the biggest story at his own network after chastising everyone else?” the network insider demanded.

Rolling Stone report alleges Zucker and Gollust gave talking points to Gov. Cuomo

Meanwhile, Fox News also cited a report from Rolling Stone magazine which alleged that “Zucker and Gollust were advising [Gov. Cuomo] at the beginning of the COVID pandemic in ways not dissimilar to what led to Chris Cuomo’s dismissal.”

“As Andrew sparred on a daily basis with then-President Trump over COVID messaging, the couple provided the governor with talking points on how to respond to the president’s criticisms of the New York crisis.”

Fox News noted that Trump has himself weighed in on the controversy, issuing a statement in which he called Zucker “a world-class sleazebag who has headed ratings and real-news-challenged CNN for far too long.”

The former president went on to assert that under Zucker’s leadership “CNN has lost its way with viewers and everybody else.”

“Now is a chance to put Fake News in the backseat because there may not be anything more important than straightening out the horrendous LameStream Media in our Country, and in the case of CNN, throughout the World.”
