A new report explains why former President Donald Trump has been absent from the network in recent weeks.
The New York Times reported on Friday that Trump has been off the network for more than 100 days, claiming the move is part of an effort to keep Trump off of Fox News.

“In the former president’s view, according to two people who have spoken to him recently, Fox’s ignoring him is an affront far worse than running stories and commentary that he has complained are ‘too negative,'” The Times reported.
“The network is effectively displacing him from his favorite spot: the center of the news cycle,” it added.

Not just Fox
“Earlier this month, the Murdoch-owned newspapers the New York Post and The Wall Street Journal published harsh rebukes of Trump’s actions regarding Jan. 6 while strongly opposing a Trump bid for president in 2024,” Newsmax reported.
“The Times said Trump’s failure to accept the 2020 election result was at the root of the Murdochs’ criticism of the former president, a view shared by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky,” the outlet added.

The shift is leading to growing concerns among some Americans who see the change as a move by the network to become less conservative.
Instead, Fox News has focused on attacking President Joe Biden and reporting from other Republican lawmakers and leaders as the midterms near.
The move may also signal the network’s hopes that it would prefer someone else to run in 2024, offering an alternative to Trump’s controversial leadership that would be part of a White House comeback bid.
