Political prisoner Steve Bannon is not taking the Biden regime’s campaign of repression lying down.
According to the Associated Press, the Trump ally said he is “taking on the Biden regime” after his first court appearance Monday on bogus “contempt” charges stemming from his refusal to play along with the Democratic party’s Jan. 6 propaganda.
Bannon unloads on Biden
Bannon was indicted for “contempt of Congress” after defying a subpoena from the Democratically-controlled committee to investigate the so-called Capitol “insurrection.”
On the right, Bannon’s indictment is widely seen as a chilling and unprecedented abuse of power, just the latest in a “war on domestic terror” that the Biden regime is waging against domestic political opponents. On the authoritarian left, it has been received with rapturous enthusiasm.
For his part, the always combative Bannon appeared unbowed Monday after getting released without bail. He said he was “going on the offense” and added that there will be hell to pay for Biden and his authoritarian pals. “This is going to be a misdemeanor from hell for Merrick Garland, Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden,” he said.
U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland hailed Bannon’s indictment and said it shows the “department’s steadfast commitment” to the rule of law, in a bizarre statement.
But many would say that Garland’s “steadfast commitment” appears to be to the Democratic party alone.
According to the Daily Mail, House Republicans exposed documents Tuesday showing that the FBI is using counterterrorism tools against innocent parents — despite Garland’s vehement insistence that he was not targeting parents as “domestic terrorists” at the behest of school boards.
Bannon is a top target of the left, owing to his unrepentant insistence that the 2020 election was rigged, a claim the left dismisses as “the big lie.” And many Americans have decried the treatment of Jan. 6 defendants in the Washington, D.C. jail, comparing them to inmates in a Soviet gulag.
Ironically, the same regime goons who accused Trump of “politicizing” the DOJ by resisting the thoroughly debunked Russia collusion hoax are now screeching at signs of resistance to the Biden regime’s overt political persecution.
The Washington Post, which recently acknowledged its critical role in spreading the garbage “pee tape” dossier, published an article about Bannon painting Republicans as dangerous for vowing to get even if they take back Congress in 2022, a scenario many see as likely as Biden collapses in the polls.
Republican Elise Stefanik (NY), the third-ranking House member, noted that Democrats “baselessly accused President Trump of ‘weaponizing’ the DOJ” for years even though Democrats subverted the rule of law, first with the Russia hoax and now “the Soviet-style prosecution of political opponents.”
