Texas border counties declare invasion, invite governor to join

Kinney County, Texas, has declared the border crisis an invasion, calling for Republican Gov. Greg Abbott to join in support.

Kinney County has already been joined in support by five other counties.

“During the month of June, Kinney County law enforcement has prevented over 67 smuggling attempts along our roadways. This past weekend included the unfortunate deaths of 3 illegal aliens who were involved with human smuggling in Kinney County,” the county said in a statement.

“As a Texan, this is not acceptable,” County Judge Tully Shahan wrote. “We will no longer allow the sovereignty of Texas to be invaded by those unwilling to obey our laws.”

Texas continues to step up to respond to the border crisis that has been created due to the Biden administration’s open border policies.

Texas counties should not feel the need to take such measures to protect themselves, but the record number of people illegally entering communities has quickly changed the situation.
