Texas is sending more illegal migrants to D.C.

This Biden administration has been widely condemned for its failure to control illegal immigration, with border crossing reaching a new record in 2021.

In response, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has announced that his state will bus migrants to the nation’s capital.

The third busload has reached D.C.

According to the New York Post, Friday saw the third busload of illegal immigrants arrive from Texas in Washington, D.C. on Friday. The Post noted that Abbott first announced his bussing plan during a press conference on April 6.

To help local officials – because communities are being overwhelmed by hordes of illegal immigrants who are being dropped off by the Biden Administration – Texas is providing charter buses for these illegal immigrants who have been dropped off to Washington, D.C.,” the Republican governor was quoted as saying.

“We are sending them to the United States capital where the Biden administration will be able to more immediately address the needs of the people that they are allowing to come across our border,” he added.

The move comes just as the Biden administration is set to abandon Title 42, a Trump-era rule which allowed illegal immigrants to be swiftly removed.

Texas is holding up border traffic to pressure Mexico

Abbott told Fox News host Tucker Carlson this week that his bussing plan is just one facet of a larger strategy to reduce the flow of migrants.

He explained how in addition to erecting barriers along the border, Texas has also begun stepping up vehicle inspections as part of an effort to get Mexican authorities to secure their side of the border.

“What we’ve done is we implemented what we call enhanced safety inspections of every commercial vehicle coming across the border from Mexico into the state of Texas,” Abbott said.

“It had the predictable result, and that is it snarled traffic for miles in Mexico, basically crushing economic conditions in these states as well as in the country of Mexico, and having severe economic consequences for businesses in Mexico,” he continued.

“The predictable result is that these governors of states that are connected to Texas would be knocking on our door begging for relief,” Abbott added.

As they beg for relief, we are demanding that they implement security measures that will reduce illegal immigration coming across the border.
