Democrats in Congress may soon be getting a taste of their own medicine.
According to Post Millennial, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has made good on her promise to file fresh articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden in the wake of chaos in Kabul following the withdrawal of U.S. forces in Afghanistan.
In addition to the Afghanistan debacle, Greene’s articles also reportedly cover Biden’s handling of an immigration crisis at the U.S.–Mexico border, as well as his unilateral decision to continue a federal evictions moratorium despite questions of its legality.
“Dereliction of duty”
Greene first shared the news herself in a tweet published Friday. Attached to it was a statement in which she called out Biden for causing “America to lose the respect of the entire world” in just seven months as president.
“The evidence is clear and his actions are so egregious that he must be impeached,” Greene charged.
“This is a process no one wants to go through, but it is a necessary process for the safety and security of the country and the American people,” she added. “Joe Biden must be impeached, tried in the Senate, convicted, and removed from office.”

“A high crime”
Later in the evening, while in attendance at an event in Ohio, Rep. Greene received applause and a standing ovation after announcing her move toward impeachment to the crowd, the Post Millennial reported.
“I did that on behalf of the American people,” Greene said. “Those aren’t articles of impeachment for Marjorie Taylor Greene, those are articles of impeachment for the United States of America.”

It remains to be seen how many — if any — of Greene’s Republican colleagues in the House will sign on in support of the articles. For now, however, it seems her best chance may be in Congress’ upper chamber, where even Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has expressed support for ousting Biden as the Taliban tightens its grip on Kabul.
“We’re duty-bound to get every American citizen out, we’re honor-bound to get those Afghans who fought along our side out,” Graham said in a recent interview, according to Newsweek. “If we leave one American behind, if we don’t get all those Afghans who stepped up to the plate to help us out, then Joe Biden, in my view, has committed a high crime and misdemeanor under the Constitution and should be impeached.”
