‘Not nearly enough’: Greta Thunberg criticizes Biden administration’s climate agenda

Teen climate change activist Greta Thunberg has attained international prominence for calling out leaders of all types for perceived inaction on environmental issues.

According to recent reports, some leftists in America might not be pleased with her remarks criticizing President Joe Biden’s position on the issue. Of course, progressives cheered in 2019 when she famously glared at then-President Donald Trump.

“I don’t have the mandate”

It was during a recent MSNBC interview that she offered a coy response when asked to give the Biden administration a grade on its performance thus far regarding climate-related policies.

“Well, you shouldn’t take that from me,” she told host Mehdi Hasan. “I’m just a teenager, so I don’t have the mandate to sort of give grades like that. My opinion on this doesn’t matter.”

Thunberg continued on, however, and offered some direct critiques based on what she has witnessed so far.

“You should rather look at the science and whether his policies are in line with the Paris agreements and to stay below 1.5 or even 2 degrees Celsius, and then you can clearly see that, no, it’s not nearly enough in line with the science,” she declared. “That’s not me saying, that’s just black and white, looking at the facts.”

She acknowledged that “it’s difficult” to meet these demands and declared that she “would not want to be in a politician’s position right now,” but nonetheless described such drastic steps as vital to the survival of mankind.

“They better treat it accordingly”

Hasan chimed in by asking his guest what she believed the president should be doing differently.

Thunberg replied that Biden should “just treat the climate crisis like a crisis,” noting that the administration has declared it an “existential threat” to the world.

“They better treat it accordingly, which they are not,” she said.

For his part, Biden has stressed the importance of acting immediately to reverse climate change, in part by rejoining the Paris Climate Accord. Critics of that decision, however, portrayed it as a concession to China.

In an opinion piece published late last year, Rebecca Grant wrote: “China is the world’s biggest carbon dioxide emitter, responsible for 29% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions. That’s double the U.S. percentage. If China won’t live up to its treaty regarding its treatment of Hong Kong, do you think Chinese leaders are keen on limiting the amount of carbon dioxide their nation emits?”

  1. Why does anybody care about the opinion of an obviously coached and coerced teenager, who has no life experience, no education, and no credibility? Other than the hype put out by the lamestream media, this little girl would never have been heard of.

    1. I agree, who cares! She isn’t even an american citizen so she can just stay out of other people’s business. I didn’t vote for Joe but she needs to leave that poor old man alone.

  3. The priority in my mind is that in order to succeed or make headway in Climate Agenda would require every single Country to get on board.
    Anything else would be useless.
That would be like putting Paper Butterflies on the Walls of a Container for Children to camouflage the real problem.
    Band-aids cheapen true concerns.

  4. China is the biggest offender in climate pollution, yet they are not held to account on anything! Why is the u.s. expected to be held accountable for the world’s pollution ?We can only do so much.

  5. I truly believe the climate is changing–however, having said that, I am not convinced humans can make a big difference on the rate of change….I am convinced the planet Earth is going through its climate cycle. It may take 10,000 years, or more, to complete the cycle, but the planet will go through the ICE AGE and SCORCHED EARTH cycles and there is literally nothing humanity can do about it. The involvement of governments will be limited to taxing the populations and increasing the bureaucracy to make it appear they are doing something about it.

    1. Finally an intelligent answer to the past several years of BS, we have had laws nationally for car emissions, factories with emission controls for decades and we’re still getting warmer, Gary is 100% correct, , earth has been changing for thousands of years, get used to it folks nothing is going to change unless God want it to.

  6. Greta Thunberg is an idiot. Enough is said that China is the biggest violator of Climate stability in the world. How well did they help find the cause and the cure for Covid19 when it happened in China and they buried information like a cat buries its droppings. The whole idea that mankind can reverse and control the climate is basically saying mankind will control the weather, if it ever happens whichever country success in doing so will weaponize the weather and rule the world with and iron fist and God will not allow it to happen.

  7. Thunburg How are you getting to your appearances, flying? well you are leaving a foot print I find offensive. You need to get a motorized broom, that way your carbon foot print will be minimal ,

  8. Wonder what they are paying her parents to all them to fill her child’s head with all these lies and half truths?

  9. Why do web sites keep publishing information about this arrogant little Twitt. No one in their right mind gives a rats butt about anything she has to say. Nothing but a self important puppet dancing to her puppy masters.

  10. Folks we were listening to Ted Cruz, he is a good person, but he is just like the rest tell tell but no solution i don’t know what folks think but the way i see it being nice isn’t going to get us anywhere i want the dirtest meanest man or women that plays by the rules the Democrats and worse to ram through the necessary agenda, it probably will get violent if thats what it takes to get our country back so be it.
