Top Democrat hopes Kamala Harris will be the next president

California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom has revealed that he hopes Vice President Kamala Harris will become the nation’s next president.

Newsom shared the remarks during an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle.

Newsom’s response

“Yeah, I mean, I have sub-zero interest. It’s not even on my radar,” the governor said.

“I’m hopeful that she’s the next president of the United States,” he said speaking of Vice President Harris.

Harris in the polls

“Newsom’s support of Harris comes at a time when Harris’s approval rating has plummeted below that of Biden’s, a recent Trafalgar poll showed,” according to Breitbart News.

“Just 28 percent of respondents approve of how ‘Harris is handling her job,’ while 62 percent of those polled said they disapprove, Breitbart News reported. Of participants, 39 percent approve of Biden while 55 percent disapprove.”

Harris is only one of several Democrats the mainstream media has suggested as the next president. President Joe Biden, 79, has repeatedly stated he plans to run for reelection, but many remain unconvinced.

If not, Harris would have a shot, but she would also face other competitors. Some mentioned have included New York Mayor Eric Adams, former First Lady Hillary Clinton, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

Newsom may want Harris as the next president, but the view certainly isn’t a popular one as her ratings rank even lower than Biden’s, with Biden already ranking at historical lows with the nation’s rampant inflation and record gas prices, among other issues.
