Trump advisers urge him to make 2024 announcement ASAP after Mar-A-Lago raid

The unprecedented FBI raid of Mar-A-Lago has given Donald Trump a “yuge” jolt in momentum that has changed the political landscape.

Close allies of the former president are urging him to capitalize on the raid and announce that he is running for president in 2024 immediately, New York Post reported.

Mar-A-Lago raid changes Trump 2024 timeline

The raid has rallied Republican voters around Trump and breathed new life into his political brand, which is based on a perception that he is an outsider to a corrupt Washington, D.C. establishment.

Trump’s polling lead over Florida governor Ron DeSantis (R), a man widely seen as Trump’s only genuine 2024 primary competitor, has grown since the raid, which has also proven to be a fundraising windfall. Trump’s political action committee has raked in millions.

“There are more and more people telling President Trump to announce right now. He’s got people calling him,” a person in Trump’s circle said.

Game-changer?

Now, Republicans who were previously anxious for Trump to wait until after the midterms are calling on him to make a 2024 announcement ASAP.

Trump is taking a wait-and-see approach for now, the report said. But Trump ally Michael Caputo, who worked as an assistant secretary of public affairs in the Department of Health and Human Services in 2020, said that Trump is on the ballot this November no matter what, so he may as well go for it.

“My advice for the president [before] was you want elections to be about midterms and Joe Biden, not Donald Trump, but now with this raid Donald Trump is on the ballot no matter what happens in the midterms,” Caputo said.

Liberal tears incoming….

The affidavit justifying the search could shed some light on the unprecedented raid, but the DOJ wants it all wrapped up tight. The judge who signed the warrant, however, has said the affidavit can be released in redacted form. The DOJ has until Thursday to make redactions.

President Trump’s lawyers filed a Fourth Amendment lawsuit on Monday that blasted the raid as a blatant attempt to stop Trump from running in 2024.

A GOP strategist told the Post that Trump fatigue could work against Trump, who would be running as a change candidate for the third time.

But Trump has a remarkable ability to keep things interesting. Democrats are certainly still obsessed with him. Could it really be happening all over again?
