Trump again advocates for pre-debate drug test for Joe Biden

President Trump is ratcheting up attacks on Democrat nominee Joe Biden ahead of the first scheduled presidential debate.

Trump floated the idea of drug testing Joe Biden before the debate last week, and doubled down on the notion on Sunday, saying he’s “not joking,” he said when asked about the idea during a White House press conference.

Doubling down

Speculation about Joe Biden’s alleged cognitive decline has died down somewhat within the last several weeks, but President Trump is attempting to revive it as the election comes to a head.

Trump said on Saturday, “Don’t underestimate him, look, he’s been doing this for 47 years,” Trump said of the upcoming debates. “You never know. They give him a big fat shot in the ass and he comes out, and for two hours he’s better than ever before.”

Trump said on Saturday that he was also willing to take a drug test ahead of the debates to even the playing field.

The president pushed the idea again on Sunday, saying that “People say he was on performance-enhancing drugs” while participating in primary debates in 2019. “A lot of people have said that, a lot of people have written that.”

The first debate in a series of three is set to kick off on Tuesday evening in Cleveland, Ohio.

Prepping the audience

President Trump attacked the media’s poor coverage of the new revelations about Hunter Biden’s questionable dealings with Ukraine and China while Joe Biden was the sitting vice president, giving Americans a likely preview of what Trump will focus on in the upcoming debate.

“If we had a media that was fair — even just reasonable — this would be the biggest story for years and years,” Trump said. “Then you’d be entitled to real Pulitzer Prizes, not the fake committee that gives away these fake awards.”

Trump highlighted allegations contained within last week’s Senate report on Hunter Biden’s business dealings that reveals the younger Biden received a $3.5 million wire transfer from a Russian oligarch while Joe Biden was vice president.

“Why did he get $3.5 million? I’ll tell you why: Because Joe Biden was in on it,” Trump declared. “Joe was in on it. There’s no way that he wasn’t.”

Mediaite reported that Trump is preparing to highlight the new allegations in the Senate report against Joe and Hunter Biden during the debate on Tuesday.
