Former President Donald Trump posted his thoughts late Thursday night on the televised hearing by the January 6 committee, using his own social media platform, Truth Social.
“So the Unselect Committee of political HACKS refuses to play any of the many positive witnesses and statements, refuses to talk of the Election Fraud and Irregularities that took place on a massive scale,” Trump wrote in a post. “Our Country is in such trouble!”
Trump also slammed the hearing before it took place, saying that the January 6 Capitol breach was the “greatest movement” in the history of the U.S.
“The Unselect Committee didn’t spend one minute studying the reason that people went to Washington, D.C., in massive numbers, far greater than the Fake News Media is willing to report …” Trump said.
No ill intent
While it is true that people went to Washington, D.C. because they feared the election had been stolen and wanted to show support for Trump, most of the people who attended the Trump rally didn’t intend to do anything about it except listen, and maybe contact their elected representatives and express their concerns.
Even those who entered the Capitol didn’t seem, from all accounts, to have the intent to take over the government. This was evidenced by the fact that as soon as police showed up in force, everyone cleared out and order was quickly restored.
If the breachers had been intent on overthrowing the government, as the Democrats have continually claimed since, there would have been violence and many more people would have been hurt or killed. As it was, the only person killed in the actual Capitol breach was a protester, whom the Capitol police shot for trying to break down a door.
It may or it may not be true that election fraud delivered the election to Joe Biden instead of Trump, but he has had plenty of time to prove it conclusively and has not been able to do so.
Once Democrats get finished flagellating Republicans over January 6, all they will have left is ever-increasing inflation and gas prices, colossal foreign policy blunders, and millions of illegal immigrants streaming across virtually open borders.
Every time Americans fill up their gas pumps, and every time they go grocery shopping, they are going to remember Biden’s failures.
January 6 hearings and unpopular abortion decisions are going to pale in comparison to the everyday feeling that things are spinning out of control, economically.
November, and then 2024, can’t come soon enough.
