Trump: China has 'many thousands of spies' in U.S.

Amid the ongoing Chinese spy balloon situation, former U.S. President Donald Trump is warning Americans that China, in reality, has "many thousands of spies working in the United States."

Trump said as much in a video statement that he has released.

Trump begins the video, saying, "It’s rarely even mentioned that China has many thousands of spies working in the United States in business, finance, academia, technology, media, and, likely, even government, very sadly."

Trump, however, was just getting started.

Trump links Biden to China

Trump went on to tie President Joe Biden, in various ways, to China.

Trump noted that, after he "established a special initiative at the Department of Justice tasked with the sole mission of targeting Chinese espionage in the United States," Biden "terminated that program right away, suggesting that it was somehow racist."

Trump cited "published reports," as reporting that Biden made this decision "shortly after 160 faculty members of the University of Pennsylvania . . . home of the now-infamous Biden Center - wrote to [U.S. Attorney General] Merrick Garland and demanded that the Chinese espionage initiative be shut down immediately."

The university is "now-infamous," of course, because that is where the first batch of classified documents was found in the Biden classified documents scandal.

Trump went on to argue that, given this background, "Congress needs to dig deep into the financial operations of the University of Pennsylvania, its Chinese donors, the Biden Center, and the Biden family and figure out what the hell is going on."

"SHOOT [IT] DOWN"

Trump, in his video statement, went on to explain how he will hold China accountable and put a stop to Chinese espionage should he retake the U.S. presidency in 2024.

Trump's video comes as a Chinese balloon has been discovered to be hovering over U.S. airspace. China has claimed that the balloon is nothing more than a civilian weather balloon that has veered off course. But, the U.S. Pentagon appears fairly certain that it is actually a Chinese surveillance balloon.

Accordingly, it is perhaps no coincidence that the balloon has been seen hovering over parts of the U.S., such as Montana's Malmstrom Air Force Base and ICBM silos.

Despite this, Biden and his administration are allowing the balloon to simply continue on its way. And, they have not explained why it is that they have made this decision.

In a separate social media post, Trump made it very clear what he would do if he were still president. He wrote, "SHOOT DOWN THE BALLOON!"
