Trump Jr. says Dems hate the president ‘more than they love America’

Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Jr., has been a staunch defender of his father since the now-president first entered the political arena. Indeed, Don Jr. is known for confronting Democrats head-on and calling plays exactly as he sees them — and this weekend, we saw more of the same.

The president’s son didn’t hold back when he told Fox’s Sunday Morning Futures that Democrats have made clear they aren’t putting their country first. “Democrats and media hate Trump much more than they love America,” Trump Jr. said Sunday, according to Breitbart.

“You can’t dispute the numbers”

Trump Jr.’s frank assessment of the current political landscape came amid a wide-ranging discussion with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo that touched on the impeachment saga — including new calls from Dems to hear from witnesses like Rudy Giuliani associate Lev Parnas — and the president’s prospects ahead of November’s elections, according to Fox News.

For her part, Bartiromo lamented that President Trump has been dealing with Democrats’ antics since he first took office. “Throughout 2016 and 2017, we saw this hysteria in terms of collusion, and yet they just continue to look for more things to try to attack your father,” the Fox host opined.

Unfortunately, the president’s son said the left doesn’t have any plans of stopping. “They will double down. Again, any opportunity to hurt Trump — that’s the reality,” Don Jr. predicted.

“Democrats and media hate Trump much more than they love America,” the president’s son continued, “because you can’t dispute the numbers. You can’t dispute all-time low unemployment for every group in this country, every demographic.”

And those things didn’t just appear out of thin air, Trump Jr. noted.

“It’s not by magic,” he said. “It’s because [the president has] implemented policies that have allowed the markets to work, that have allowed small business to thrive, that have allowed people to actually invest in themselves, and that’s lifted everyone, that affects a lot of people.”

“We have to play the game”

Trump Jr. also spoke of the Senate’s impeachment trial in his Sunday interview, saying that he’s open to hearing additional testimony, as Democrats have requested, but only if witnesses from both sides of the aisle are called — a measure of fairness that wasn’t afforded to the GOP during the House’s one-sided impeachment inquiry late last year.

“We have to play the game the way the Democrats have played the game,” Trump Jr. said, according to Fox. “We have to play hard but fair, [and] hearing from everyone is totally fair. That’s not what we’ve seen so far while the Democrats have controlled the process. It has not been fair in any way, shape or form.”

Indeed, Dems have shown over the last several months that their priorities lie in getting Donald Trump out of the White House by whatever means necessary — even if it means letting down the Americans they were elected to represent.

So much for putting country ahead of party.
