Trump plays video at rally showing Biden calling for cuts to Social Security, Medicare

At a campaign rally in Florida on Friday, President Donald Trump used one Democrat to expose another.

Trump played footage from the Democratic primary debate between Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and former Vice President Joe Biden to show that the Democratic presidential nominee has proposed cutting Social Security, Medicare, and similar benefits, Breitbart reported.

“Either stupid or he lies”

Trump used the strategy at a campaign event at The Villages, one of the nation’s largest senior communities.

“The video I’m about to play was created by Crazy Bernie earlier this year to expose Joe Biden’s atrocious record and his egregious lies,” Trump said.

The president then proceeded to play a video that showed Biden talking about cutting everything from Social Security to Medicaid to Medicare to Veterans benefits and beyond.

“This guy is either really stupid or he lies,” Trump said after the video had finished playing.

Sanders pinned Biden

The video also showed Sanders exposing Biden’s stance on Medicare and Social Security during the Democratic debate.

“Let me ask you a question, Joe,” Sanders said at the March 15 debate. “You’re right here with me. Have you been on the floor of the Senate, you were in the Senate for a few years, time and time again talking about the necessity, with pride, about cutting Social Security, cutting Medicare, cutting veterans programs?”

“No,” Biden responded. Sanders asked, “You never said that?” to which Biden again said, “No.” Sanders then told America to “go to the website right now, go to the YouTube right now.” There, Americans would find a video, like the one Trump played, of Biden talking about cutting benefits for the elderly.

Flip-flopper

Biden has shown time and time again what sort of politician he is. Whether it’s fracking or Social Security, he says one thing, but then will say something completely different to get elected.

Trump, on other hand, made many campaign promises — from moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, to cutting taxes and regulations — and he delivered.

And unlike Biden, the president has also made it clear that he will protect Social Security and Medicare.
