Saturday marked the 20th anniversary of 9/11, when nearly 3,000 innocent lives were lost in a series of terrorist attacks that changed America forever.
To commemorate the bravery of the first responders who risked their lives that day in his hometown and elsewhere, Donald Trump visited over the weekend with members of the New York City police and fire departments, Breitbart reported, an opportunity the former president used to shred his successor, Joe Biden, on his recent failures in Afghanistan.
Trump gets warm welcome
C-SPAN’s cameras were rolling Saturday as former President Trump first stopped by the NYPD’s 17th Precinct to meet and speak with the officers there.
After a brief address, the president answered a handful of questions before gladly posing for a series of group photos and selfies with those in attendance.
Paying the heroes a visit
Completely at ease as he worked his way through the crowd of “New York’s Finest,” Trump then moved next door to an FDNY company, where he was greeted with appreciative applause, Breitbart reported.
Trump spoke briefly with the firefighters and praised them for their bravery, heroism, and self-sacrifice before once again happily posed for a number of pictures.

“I wonder why”
While addressing both the cops and firefighters, Trump repeatedly referenced Biden’s botched handling of the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan last month, and said he could have handled the situation much better if he were still in charge.
“[Biden] turned victory into a total embarrassment; I say the most embarrassing moment in the history of our country,” the former president said, according to Breitbart.
At one point, Trump even took a stab at his successor over his failure to deliver remarks at memorial events Biden attended at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, the three sites where planes went down on Sept. 11, 2001.
“Biden didn’t even speak today! He went to all three places and he didn’t speak,” Trump said, according to Breitbart. “I wonder why he didn’t speak.”
