Over the past few months, former President Donald Trump has been vindicated on many fronts, including now the most recent revelations stemming from Special Counsel John Durham’s probe into Trump-Russia investigation that appears to be the greatest political hoax of all time.
According to Fox News, in an exclusive interview, the 45th president spoke about the latest news with regard to the indictment issued for Igor Danchenko, a man believed to be one of the sources for the debunked, infamous Steele Dossier, compiled by former British spy, Christopher Steele.
As one will recall, Steele’s dossier was one of the pieces of “evidence” used to obtain a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant against former Trump campaign aide Carter Page.
Notably, the dossier was funded in part by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s campaign via Perkins Coie, a law firm, and by the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
Trump praises Durham
The former president has been at odds with Durham for the better part of two years, as he and others in the Republican party originally expected Durham, who was appointed special counsel by former Attorney General Bill Barr, to deliver what could have been an election-shifting report prior to the 2020 election.
Durham, at the time, was fairly silent in the media spotlight, and with no updates, Trump and many of his surrogates began a “Where’s Durham?” trend that painted the investigator in a negative light.
But apparently, Durham was busy building cases, and finally, it appears as if he’s dropping the hammer, which was evidenced in Danchenko’s indictment announcement. Trump, to say the least, was quite happy.
“It really has come out,” Trump said during his interview with Fox. “In all fairness, while it has taken a long time, hats off to John Durham.”
The former president added: “We all sort of knew that happened, and now we have facts, and I think they’re only going to get deeper and deeper — and it all leads back to the Democrats, Hillary and the dirty lawyers.”
Trump admitted that Durham’s approach, while slow and methodical, seems to be the best way to take down those involved in building the hoax investigation against the former president.
“What they did was so illegal, at a level that you’ve rarely seen before,” Trump said. “Now, in all fairness, it looks to me like this is just the early building blocks.”
He added: “Those are big things that are happening, and what it really shows is what a hoax it was,” Trump told Fox. “What happened here is incredible, going on for years, and we still did more than any administration, just about ever.”
