Trump strikes back, will file illegal search and seizure motion against FBI, DOJ

It’s still difficult to comprehend what really — if anything — led up to the raid on a former president’s private residence. But Donald Trump, in true Trump fashion, will be the last person to let the situation slide.

According to Breitbart, Trump announced via Truth Social on Friday night that in response to the FBI and DOJ’s seemingly politically-motivated raid, the former president will file an unlawful search and seizure motion with the courts, claiming that the agencies grossly violated his Fourth Amendment rights.

In his statement, Trump declared the raid “illegal,” and suggested it was nothing more than a political hit in the run-up to the November midterm elections.

He also went on to point out some of the other attempts made by FBI and DOJ forces years ago to target his campaign and early days in the White House.

“A major motion”

Trump held nothing back in his Truth Social statement concerning the raid.

“A major motion pertaining to the Fourth Amendment will soon be filed concerning the illegal Break-In of my home, Mar-a-Lago, right before the ever important Mid-Term Elections,” Trump wrote.

He added: “My rights, together with the rights of all Americans, have been violated at a level rarely seen before in our Country. Remember, they even spied on my campaign. The greatest Witch Hunt in USA history has been going on for six years, with no consequences to the scammers. It should not be allowed to continue!”

His statement came in the wake of a federal judge ordering the DOJ to release parts of the sworn affidavit that would have convinced the judge to sign off the raid, though most expect the DOJ to heavily — if not totally — redact the document on the first go-around.

What about the footage?

There’s also the mystery of why the FBI was at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago compound for nearly 12 hours.

While the feds reportedly asked Trump’s attorneys to cut off the surveillance footage of the raid, Trump ordered the footage to keep running, and many wonder if he’ll release it to show just what the federal agents were up to while they ransacked his home.

Only time will tell if Trump releases the footage and if the DOJ releases the affidavit, but one can be sure that this situation is far from over.
