Trump trolls government with redacted statement

Last week, U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart ordered the Department of Justice (DOJ) to release the affidavit it used to obtain a search warrant for former President Donald Trump’s Florida home.

The affidavit was heavily redacted, however, which led Trump to troll the government with a redacted document of his own.

The former president puts out a mock affidavit

According to Breitbart, Trump put up a post on his social media platform which was made to look like the redacted affidavit, with only the words “Make America Great Again” being visible.

In another post, Trump pushed back on media allegations that he absconded with nuclear secrets by noting that the word “nuclear” is not mentioned in the redacted affidavit.

“Affidavit heavily redacted!!! Nothing mentioned on ‘Nuclear,’ a total public relations subterfuge by the FBI & DOJ, or our close working relationship regarding document turnover – WE GAVE THEM MUCH.

The judge recused himself from a lawsuit involving Trump and Hillary Clinton

What’s more, Trump lashed out at Reinhart and drew attention to the fact that the judge had earlier recused himself from a lawsuit involving the former president and Hillary Clinton.

“Judge Bruce Reinhart should NEVER have allowed the Break-In of my home. He recused himself two months ago from one of my cases based on his animosity and hatred of your favorite President, me.

“What changed? Why hasn’t he recused himself on this case? Obama must be very proud of him right now,” Trump continued.

“Further, there is probable cause to believe that additional documents that contain classified NDI or that are Presidential records subject to record retention requirements currently remain at the PREMISES,” the affidavit stated.

Alina Habba is one of Trump’s attorneys, and the New York Post noted that she raised the issue of Reinhart’s previous recusal during an interview with Fox News this past Friday.

“They go to the judge that had recused himself in my Hillary case a month ago,” Habba said of the FBI. “I would like to know why he recused himself in that case, but then he was able to sign this warrant. I want to know that.”
