Trump trolls the FBI, DOJ following search warrant affidavit release

Former President Donald Trump just trolled the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI, Breitbart News reports

Trump did so on Friday by posting to social media a photo of a document in which everything was redacted except for four words: “Make . . . America . . . . great . . . again.”

“They missed a page!” Trump wrote in the caption.

Trump’s trolling came following the recent unsealing of the search warrant affidavit behind the FBI’s raid of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.

The whole point of unsealing the affidavit was to provide transparency about why the DOJ decided to conduct an unprecedented raid on the residence of a former president.

No transparency, however, was provided by the unsealing of the document. Instead, what Americans got was a heavily redacted affidavit. Of its 38 pages, 24 have some level of redaction, and 20 were significantly or fully redacted.

Hence, Trump’s trolling.

If you thought the first troll was funny

On Saturday, Trump followed his first troll up with another one. This time, the troll came in the form of a video.

In the background of the video is a page of the affidavit that is entirely redacted – line after line is crossed out with black ink almost giving the impression of a stairway – perhaps the steps that a president might use to board Air Force One.

In the video, Biden is then overlaid over the document, specifically that time when he stumbled up the steps while boarding Air Force One – only instead of falling over the steps, here, Biden is falling over the black lines of the redacted search warrant affidavit. And, this is all taking place as music plays in the background.

“Witch Hunt”

On a more serious note, Trump, in a separate statement, made it clear that he is not happy that the affidavit is so heavily redacted. He argued that it is proof of a “cover-up.”

“The release of a heavily redacted, overtly political affidavit only proves that the Biden administration is desperate to cover up their unprecedented, unnecessary, and un-American raid against President Donald J. Trump,” Trump wrote. “This is a grave travesty, and what is unredacted only further supports President Trump’s position, there was NO reason for a raid – it is all politics!”
