‘Making plans’: Mark Meadows teases at another Trump White House bid

Liberals’ worst nightmare is coming true.

According to Business Insider, former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows hinted in a recent interview that former President Donald Trump and his allies are gearing up for another presidential run in 2024.

What comes next

Meadows’ revelation came during a recent interview with Newsmax. There, he revealed that over the last week, Trump and his “Cabinet members” have been meeting at the former president’s New Jersey golf club to discuss “what does come next.”

“We met with several of our Cabinet members tonight,” Meadows said, according to the Washington Examiner. “We actually had a follow-up member — meeting with some of our Cabinet members, and as we were looking at that. We were looking at what does come next.”

Some of what comes next we already know. We already know, for example, that Trump is going to be working to help Republicans take back control of Congress in 2022, in part by endorsing candidates whose platforms align with his Make America Great Again agenda.

Moving forward

But Trump’s own political future remains uncertain. At this point, he hasn’t officially announced plans to run for the White House in 2024.

He’s blamed his hesitancy on what he’s referred to as “antiquated” campaign finance rules, as Newsmax notes. But Meadows was a lot more willing to dish out the details.

“I’m not authorized to speak on behalf of the president, but I can tell you this, Steve: We wouldn’t be meeting tonight if we weren’t making plans to move forward in a real way, with President Trump at the head of that ticket,” Meadows told the outlet, according to Business Insider.

On the topic of 2024, Meadows said, Trump is “fully engaged, highly focused, and remaining on task.”

Trump 2024?

Meadows’ revelation is the clearest indication we’ve seen thus far that Trump is eyeing another bid for the Oval Office. And it already appears he’ll be well-equipped for such a campaign, if he does mount one.

Besides continued support from the GOP, Trump has pulled in more campaign funds than any ex-president in U.S. history, according to reports, at a whopping $82 million.

With that, it seems all signs are pointing to exactly what the left fears most: another presidential run from Donald Trump. Let the games begin.
