Former President Donald Trump has released what may be the first campaign ad in the 2024 presidential election cycle, a video that blasts President Joe Biden for his failures in Afghanistan, according to Fox News.
The ad, titled “Failure,” ran in limited cable markets and is being used to fundraise for Trump’s Save American PAC.

Trump has repeatedly criticized Biden in recent weeks for botching the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan and allowing the Taliban to retake the country after 20 years of American military presence.
In addition, Trump, like many other Americans, is angry that U.S. citizens were left behind, as were billions of dollars in military equipment and weapons that the Taliban can now use against us and our allies.
Biden had promised that all Americans would get a chance to leave the country if they wanted to, but had to later admit that at least 100 were left behind.
Fundraising emails from the Save America PAC featured the ad over the weekend. “We told you Joe Biden was not up to the job,” the ad claims, according to Fox. “Now we’re seeing the devastating consequences of his incompetence.”
A source close to Trump told Fox about Biden’s Afghanistan debacle: “I think it’s an issue that Americans are going to care about for a long time.”
Biden has tried in speeches to frame the evacuation operation as a “success,” citing the fact that 120,000 people were airlifted out of the country, including 5,500 Americans.
But the Afghanistan pullout can hardly be termed a success when the Taliban took over even before U.S. military had even completely left and is now reportedly holding Americans hostage in Kabul.
And while he has tried to blame Trump for the debacle because of the pre-existing deal the former president had with the Taliban to leave by May, Biden has hardly seemed to feel constrained by any of Trump’s other pre-existing policies.
Judging by Biden’s freefalling poll numbers, the American people aren’t buying his blame game one bit — and they’re not seeing the whole thing as a success, either.
