Former Vice President Joe Biden’s son Hunter revealed this week that he is under investigation by the U.S. attorney’s office in Delaware for possible tax fraud. In a stunning monologue Wednesday, however, Fox News host Tucker Carlson declared that some of us have long known the truth would eventually come out.
“I learned yesterday for the first time that the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware advised my legal counsel, also yesterday, that they are investigating my tax affairs,” Hunter Biden said in a statement released by the Joe Biden transition team Wednesday.
In response, Carlson opined: “Well, a few of us knew that already, to be honest.”
“They said nothing”
Speaking on Wednesday’s episode of Tucker Carlson Tonight, Carlson lamented, however, that thanks to widespread suppression of the story by Big Tech and the mainstream media, many didn’t know ahead of the 2020 election about allegations of impropriety lodged against Hunter Biden.
“Shortly before last month’s election, we reported on this show that federal prosecutors had opened a criminal investigation into Hunter Biden’s business dealings with China, among other countries,” Carlson said. “We knew that was true, which is why we said it. Other news organizations knew it was true, too, but they didn’t say it. They said nothing.
“They hid that news, critically relevant news, from their readers and their viewers [because] they didn’t want to hurt Joe Biden’s chances of getting elected,” the Fox host added.
Carlson also took aim at the Department of Justice (DOJ) for stopping voters from making an informed decision on Nov. 3 by refusing to confirm that an investigation into Hunter Biden was underway ahead of time.
“So going into Election Day, most Americans had no idea any of this was going on,” he said, as Fox reported. “All they knew was that Joe Biden had dismissed the entire thing as a Russian plot and that large numbers of senior officials in the so-called intelligence community agreed with that assessment.”
“All of them were lying”
It all was only compounded by restrictions by social media platforms on discussions about the younger Biden’s history of questionable overseas business deals, Carlson charged. “Keep in mind, in the weeks before the election, you were not allowed to go on Twitter or Facebook and discuss those suspicious foreign transactions,” the Fox host reminded viewers.
The suppression continued even after Carlson interviewed former Biden business associate Tony Bobulinski, who said that Joe Biden’s claim that he didn’t know about his son’s business involvement with figures tied to the Chinese Communist Party was “a blatant lie.”
“At the time, [the mainstream media] called it a conspiracy theory… They dismissed it as Russian disinformation,” Carlson observed Wednesday, according to Fox. “Most media outlets deemed it unworthy of mentioning at all. Now, it turns out all of them were lying.”
Hunter Biden, for his part, maintained in his Wednesday statement that he is taking “this matter very seriously,” but that he remains “confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisors.” Only time will tell.
