Tucker Carlson calls out Disney’s Bob Iger for China ties in light of potential ambassadorship

Even before the election, troubling questions were brewing about possible connections between China and individuals close to Joe Biden.

In a recent segment of his self-titled Fox News program, Tucker Carlson pointed out that one such association reaches the highest levels of the former vice president’s transition team — and the Fox host isn’t letting Biden get away with it.

A “strong partnership”

Carlson’s monologue on Wednesday’s broadcast focused largely on Walt Disney Corporation Chairman Bob Iger, who is reportedly on Biden’s shortlist of potential ambassadors — potentially to China.

As Carlson argued, however, such a scenario could compromise U.S. security and strengthen China’s communist regime.

“Bob Iger runs The Walt Disney Company,” the Fox host asserted, according to Breitbart. “Few have made more money from his connections to the Chinese government and fewer is openly grateful for it, as Bob Iger is, and that’s not slander.”

The host capped off his comment with a clip of Iger touting “the strong partnership between Disney and China.”

“None of that bothers Bob Iger”

Driving home his larger point, Carlson also drew attention to the perceived irony of Iger proclaiming it “difficult” to film in the state of Georgia because of its socially conservative laws, while having no problem doing business with an authoritarian dictatorship like China.

“China can throw ethnic minorities into concentration camps,” he lamented, as Breitbart reported. “China can weld coronavirus patients into their apartments until they starve to death and has. China can crush protesters with tanks on television. None of that bothers Bob Iger.”

Acknowledging that it might seem “shocking” to hear that Biden would consider Iger given his close business relationship with the foreign nation, the host further opined that it makes perfect sense in light of the former vice president’s own associations.

“Today, our reporter Brooke Singman, obtained a 2017 email from Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, to the chairman of the Chinese energy company, CEFC,” Carlson said.

In the correspondence, he noted, was the greeting: “Best wishes from the entire Biden family.”

Carlson capped off the segment with his conclusion that “Joe Biden is accelerating our sucking up to China, installing Chinese propagandists in the U.S. government to represent our interests in front of China.” Now, however, it seems the jig is up.
