Tucker Carlson lashes out at teachers union: ‘The hunt for white supremacy justifies all’

Parents desperate for their kids’ schools to open are being held hostage by power-hungry unions employing “racial intimidation” tactics, Fox News host Tucker Carlson said Wednesday.

Speaking on his self-titled Fox show, Carlson blew wide open a disturbing trend in Los Angeles schools, where the “equity” agenda and a war on so-called “white supremacy” are being weaponized to terrorize families, he charged, according to Breitbart.

“That’s equity”

Carlson started out Wednesday by talking about the difference between equality and “equity.” As Carlson explained it, equality protects the powerless, while “equity” is a protection racket for the privileged.

The difference isn’t abstract: it’s having tangible and fearful consequences. Carlson pointed to the public schools in Los Angeles, where the teachers union is attempting to smear parents who disagree with them as racists under the banner of “equity.”

Carlson said the union is attacking parents who want schools open as having “the wrong skin color,” and played a clip of the union’s president, Cecily Myart-Cruz, bemoaning her opponents as “largely white, wealthy parents.”

Carlson noted the irony of government-protected teachers accusing the families they’re working to destroy of having “privilege.”

“So purely because the most privileged government workers in the United States won’t have to work, an entire generation of children is being destroyed. That’s equity, the strong hurting the weak and calling it justice,” he said, according to Breitbart.

“The hunt for white supremacy”

But it gets more disturbing still. Carlson noted how a mother in the district who has advocated for schools to reopen received a threatening email from an official with the union asking her to identify her race for “research” purposes.

The mother in question, Maryam Qudrat, is of Afghani descent and has spoken out on what she considers clear-cut “racial profiling” and an attempt to scare her into submission, as the New York Post reports. Myart-Cruz, as it happens, has said that “white and Middle Eastern parents” are behind the push to open schools.

Carlson, for his part, questioned how this kind of “racial intimidation” does not violate civil rights laws, but suggested nothing will happen since the powerful are on the side of the unions and “equity.”

What’s more, America can probably expect a lot more of this kind of intimidation, since the “equity” agenda can’t actually be defended, and even its proponents don’t bother justifying it, Carlson argued.

“The hunt for white supremacy justifies all, including injuring children and scaring their parents into silence,” Carlson said, according to Breitbart. “It’s not just happening in schools. We’re seeing this everywhere in our society right now.”
