America is changing in frightening ways since the Jan. 6 “insurrection,” as Democrats capitalize on the Capitol riot to prosecute a “war on terror” against their political enemies and transform the United States into a one-party police state.
With Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) blessing, U.S. Capitol Police will expand to a nationwide operation, starting with two new “field offices” located in California and Florida, with a mission of investigating “threats” against lawmakers, USA Today reported.
The expansion begins
A spokesperson for Capitol Police told CBS News that the agency is consciously trying to become more like the U.S. Secret Service, and a press release also said the department wants to “pivot towards an intelligence-based protective agency.”
The Capitol Police said that an alleged uptick in threats is clustered in California and Florida, but they won’t limit their new operations to those states.
“The field offices will be the first for the Department. A regional approach to investigating and prosecuting threats against Members is important, so we will be working closely with the U.S. Attorney’s Offices in those locations,” the department said.
“More field offices will be opening in the future,” the department added.
The department is also acquiring new equipment, including “state-of-the-art campus surveillance technology” on loan from the Pentagon, and they will work more closely with the U.S. intelligence community.
Democrats look to crack down on their enemies
The news comes as Pelosi forms a partisan committee to investigate the “insurrection,” as cable news talking heads cheer on the Biden administration’s draconian “war on terror” targeting American citizens.
Democrats have sought to portray the Capitol, and the United States more broadly, as under threat by a vaguely defined right-wing enemy despite numerous alleged plots against the Capitol having failed to materialize since January.
Authoritarian designs were immediately apparent after the riot, as Pelosi turned the Capitol into a military garrison with menacing fencing that has still not completely come down, The Hill reported, and thousands of National Guards troops were summoned to patrol the city in a bizarre display of force.
Pelosi has also called on Congress to allocate nearly $2 billion to bolster Capitol security, even as ordinary Americans suffer from skyrocketing crime unleashed by the Democratic party’s “defund the police” movement.
In another highly unusual move, Capitol Police have refused to identify the officer who fatally shot unarmed Capitol protester Ashli Babbitt.
