The latest guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicates that there’s no need for adults who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to wear masks outdoors. But that advice apparently isn’t good enough for some of the Democratic Party’s most elite.
According to Breitbart, cameras caught Vice President Kamala Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff not only both wearing masks outside, but also kissing each other through those cloth face coverings as the VP prepared to board Air Force Two.
Notably, both Harris and her husband have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus for months. They each received two doses of the Moderna vaccine back in November, Breitbart said.
Kissing with masks on
The cloth-covered kiss seen across the country occurred Tuesday at Joint Base Andrews, where the vice president and second gentleman were preparing to go their separate ways for the day, the Washington Examiner reported.
Harris was headed to Providence, Rhode Island, to meet with small business owners there who are struggling to recover in the wake of the pandemic. Emhoff, meanwhile, was going to Allentown, Pennsylvania to tout President Joe Biden’s new economic plan.

Citing CDC guidelines for fully vaccinated individuals, the Examiner reports that members of the same household don’t need to wear masks around one another, and particularly not while they’re outside.
Harris and her husband bucking the trend and forgoing masks while on the breezy airport tarmac marks just the latest example of mixed messaging from the Biden administration on curbing the spread of COVID-19.
“A clown world”
And perhaps unsurprisingly, it prompted a lot of pushback.
“There is no evidence to warrant wearing [a mask] outside,” one social media user said, according to Fox News. “[It’s] bonkers.”
Another reportedly opined: “We live in a clown world, folks.”
However you want to describe it, this latest move from Harris certainly seems more like political theater than anything else. If the White House wants to inspire confidence in Americans that they can return to some semblance of normalcy after getting vaccinated for COVID-19, they sure have a funny way of showing it.
