We are a little over a month away from an unprecedented presidential election in which more than half of Americans are expected to vote by mail, and news articles demonstrating the problems with mail-in-voting are a dime-a-dozen.
Breitbart reports, for example, that in Virginia, over 1,000 voters who requested an absentee ballot actually received two ballots in the mail.
How many times do you get to vote?
According to Fox News, Virginia officials “blamed the confusion on label printing machines that jammed, erroneously causing some to be duplicated when entire pages were reprinted due to damage to just some of the labels.”
Gary Scott, the Fairfax County explained to NBC, “Before the supervisors caught it, the people applying the labels applied them to the entire sheet of labels rather than just pulling out the ones that should have been processed.”
It makes one wonder, “what if this didn’t get caught? Would some people have gotten two votes?”
Along this line, Breitbart’s John Nolte recently noticed how “all of a sudden Democrats are urging people to vote in person as opposed to mailing in their ballots.” Nolte suggested in his article that some Democratic officials may be trying to get Democratic voters’ votes to count twice, once by mail and once in person.
As Nolte says, you can’t rule such things out, given what we have seen over the past three years.
The system “works”
Another big story of this type came out of Pennsylvania this week. It was discovered that military ballots cast for President Donald Trump were found after being discarded.
An investigation into the matter is currently underway. The FBI is working with Pennsylvania State Police to get to the bottom of what happened.
Officials in Luzerne County, where this happened, had the audacity to claim that “the system of checks and balances set forth in Pennsylvania elections works. An error was made, a public servant discovered it and reported it to law enforcement at the local, state and federal level who took over to ensure the integrity of the system in place.”
The threat is real
That, of course, is a crazily optimistic view taken by Luzerne officials. But, also crazily optimistic are those Democrats claiming that mail-in-voting is a flawless way to conduct an election.
Regardless of the excuses for the errors, the fact is that they occurred. Sure, these were caught, but what about all of those that aren’t caught?
