President Joe Biden’s propaganda on the border crisis appears to be reaching only the most committed Democratic partisans.
While Biden has attempted to blame the current surge on Donald Trump’s strict immigration policies, a new YouGov poll finds that a majority of Americans, including 69% of independents and a sizeable number of Biden’s own voters, disagree, Breitbart reported.
Voters reject Biden’s border propaganda
The March 23-25 survey of 1,606 adults discovered that 66% of Americans think that Biden is somewhat, a little, or mostly to blame for the problem, while 19% said he deserves none.
The survey also found that 69% of independents said that Biden deserves at least some degree of blame, with 32% saying it is mostly on him and 16% attributing some blame. Seventeen percent said Biden is off the hook, and 14% weren’t sure.
Biden voters were the only group to stand out as receptive to White House spin, with 35% saying he deserves no blame at all, and just 4% saying he is mostly to blame.
Still, 54% of Biden voters said he has at least some degree of blame, including 32% saying he deserves a little blame and 18% saying just some.
The same poll found that 62% of Americans think there is a “crisis” at the border, despite Biden’s constant equivocations on the issue.
Biden seeks to pass the buck
For weeks, the White House has sent out contradictory talking points, pointedly refusing to acknowledge a crisis at the border while indirectly admitting that there is one, and insisting it’s Trump’s fault. Biden has also said that the surge is something that happens “every single solitary year.”
It’s among the more audacious bits of gaslighting by the administration, as immigrants sporting “Biden, please let us in” T-shirts rush for the border.
There are now thousands of children in overcrowded facilities that the Biden administration has refused to let the American people see, despite promising “transparency” with the public. Some journalists were finally allowed inside of a facility on Tuesday for the first time.
Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have been in no hurry to take ownership of the problem. While they have spoken of fixing “root causes” like poverty in Central America, neither is willing to examine how Biden’s own relaxed policies are drawing migrants.
They are not planning to visit the border, either. With poll numbers like this, their hesitance is not surprising.
