A poll released during Thanksgiving week shows voters are more favorable toward Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) than former President Donald Trump.
The poll comes just after Trump became the first person to announce his run for president in 2024.

The poll
“A YouGov national poll published Wednesday showed DeSantis earning much higher approval ratings than Trump among all voters and independents. DeSantis has a net positive favorable rating overall among those polled, whereas Trump’s approval rating is underwater,” the Washington Examiner reported.
“YouGov’s poll surveyed 1,500 people through online solicitation between Nov. 19-22. The findings have a 3-point margin of error,” it added.

The difference
“According to a new poll from Democratic pollster Stan Greenberg, if the 2024 election were held today, Gov. Ron DeSantis would not only win the popular vote, he would give Republicans their best margin ever among Hispanics,” Giancarlo Sopo tweeted.
The poll showed DeSantis with a major advantage with Hispanic voters in a potential 2024 White House matchup.

But not all polls show DeSantis ahead. Newsmax showed another poll that had Trump in a large lead over other candidates.

The 2024 race is still early, but two frontrunners are already showing for the GOP as it looks for a win in two years.
