Over the years, President Joe Biden has become notorious for regularly making bizarre and at times nonsensical statements.
Yet in what was either a major gaffe or a shocking admission, Vice President Kamala Harris recently suggested that Biden isn’t the one who is actually in charge of his administration.
“Vice President-elect Biden”
Harris can be seen making that statement in a video clip which was posted to YouTube on Saturday by the account GOP War Room.
“So you’ll remember the election happened, but it took a while for it to be declared,” Harris said to someone off-camera, who responded, “Right.”
“And so my husband and I were staying in Delaware so we could be near the vice-president-elect–president-elect at the time,” she went on to add.
This is not the first time that Harris has momentarily downgraded the president’s role. At one point while campaigning in the fall of 2020, she spoke of a “Harris administration.”
“A Harris administration, together with Joe Biden as the president of the United States,” Fox News quoted Harris as promising during a virtual roundtable discussion. She quickly corrected herself, stating, “The Biden-Harris administration will provide access to $100 billion in low-interest loans and investments from minority business owners.”

Biden’s done it, too
For his part, Biden also has a history of referring to Harris as president, with one example occurring earlier this year while referencing the Jan. 6 Captiol riot during a speech at Clark Atlanta University and Morehouse College.
“Last week, President Harris and I stood in the United States Capitol to observe one of those before and after moments in American history,” Biden said according to Fox News. The network pointed out the president “apparently didn’t notice his mistake” as he did not bother to correct himself.
Biden made a similar faux pas while speaking at South Carolina State University in December of 2021, saying, “Of course, President Harris is a proud Howard [University] alum.”
