Washington Post report claims Trump possessed top-secret nuclear documents

In a report published this week, the Washington Post cited anonymous sources as saying that foreign nuclear and military secrets were discovered in last month’s raid on former President Donald Trump’s Florida home.

While Democrats have expressed fury over the allegations, Trump insists that he’s being railroaded.

Documents said to be among the government’s most secret

The Post article asserts that some of the seized material references “top-secret U.S. operations so closely guarded that many senior national security officials are kept in the dark about them.”

The report comes days after U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon granted Trump’s request to appoint a special master tasked with reviewing the seized material and sorting out privileged documents.

The Department of Justice has already signaled its intention to appeal Cannon’s ruling and the Washington Examiner reported that former Trump administration Attorney General Bill Barr argued that it will likely be reversed.

“The opinion, I think, is wrong,” he told Fox News on Tuesday. “I think the government should appeal it. It was deeply flawed in a number of ways. I don’t think the appointment of a special master is going to hold up.”

Trump compares raid to Russia collusion hoax

However, Fox News reported that Florida Sen. Marco Rubio expressed skepticism when he spoke with the network on Wednesday, saying “These people every single day are strategically leaking information that can’t be rebutted, by the way, or in any way analyzed for any reason.”

The Examiner also noted that for his part, Trump continues to deny any wrongdoing and released a statement on Tuesday in which he denounced the FBI’s investigation as a “witch hunt.”

“The Fake News Mainstream Media, Democrats, and RINOs are obsessed with pushing the latest Witch Hunt against me,” Trump was quoted as saying.

He added, “All American Patriots know that I always do everything ‘by the book’ and that this Hoax will fail miserably just like the Russia, Russia, Russia Scam, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, and all other attempts.”
