‘A double standard’: Dem Rep. Waters caught without mask on flight from DC to LA

A number of prominent progressives have been caught in violation of their own strict COVID-19 public health measures since the outbreak of the pandemic.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), who has been a vocal advocate for mask use in public, is among the latest to face accusations of hypocrisy.

“Three of them walked past”

She was reportedly spotted without her mask during an extended period of time aboard a commercial flight from D.C. to her home in Los Angeles.

Another passenger documented the situation and shared the image with the Daily Wire.

According to the anonymous passenger who shared the image, Waters remained unmasked “for at least an hour” of the flight as she read and napped in her seat.

“Attendants brought her fresh coffee and she was napping and didn’t say a thing as three of them walked past and saw Maxine reading and then sleeping while she remained maskless,” the individual said.

“People seem to be blind to it”

The source claimed that flight attendants had a “double standard” in enforcing the mask policy.

“My nose had bled pretty early into the flight, so I later on pulled my mask down below my nose to get some cooler air,” the individual recalled. “Within a few minutes, a flight attendant informed me I had to put my mask back on over my nose, the right way, immediately.”

Upon pointing out the unmasked congresswoman also on the flight, the source said the flight crew eventually confronted Waters and told her to put her mask back on. When it comes to the general public, however, Waters has long been a vocal advocate for widespread mask use.

The source who documented the congresswoman’s disregard of mask policies on the flight offered a succinct review of the situation: “A politician who believes in masks, but only when others wear them. It’s a double standard, but people seem to be blind to it.”

Furthermore, the passenger blasted flight attendants for making ordinary passengers feel “overlooked because we were not ‘important’ like Maxine.”
