White House claims Manchin’s refusal is betrayal to party

Many Washington Democrats expressed their anger over West Virginia Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin’s refusal to support President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better bill.

Manchin announced the news during a “Fox News Sunday” interview that left the White House surprised and frustrated over the year-long battle that left the party in public humiliation.

The Reveal

“I’ve always said this, Bret. If I can’t go home and explain it to the people of West Virginia, I can’t vote for it, and I cannot vote to continue with this piece of legislation. I just can’t. I’ve tried everything humanly possible. I can’t get there,” Manchin said on Fox News Sunday.

“This is a ‘no’ on this legislation,” he added.

The Response

Manchin’s reveal has led to a civil war that is nearly solely targeted against him.

Biden and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer both sounded off against Manchin in liberal publications in response.

Progressive Squad members hit the hardest, using profane language at time in their attacks against Manchin.

Despite the attacks, the left still needs Manchin to pass any form of the bill in the future and for other projects. Instead of destroying their own, Democrats would do better to find ways to come together before losing control of the House and Senate.
