White House official urges Americans to report family, friends ‘radicalizing toward violence’

President Joe Biden has repeatedly railed against the evils of domestic terrorism, particularly as it pertains to white supremacy, during the early months of his term in the White House.

Now, it appears that a senior administration official is calling on ordinary Americans to report friends or relatives who have become radicalized one some way.

“To address concerning or threatening behavior”

According to Breitbart, the request came on Monday during a conference call with members of the media.

Of course, critics of the president are increasingly concerned that conservatives could find themselves targeted by such ostensibly noble efforts to eliminate homegrown terrorism.

A transcript of the call included the potentially alarming request made by an unidentified White House official.

“We will work to improve public awareness of federal resources to address concerning or threatening behavior before violence occurs,” the source asserted. “This involves creating contexts in which those who are family members or friends or co-workers know that there are pathways and avenues to raise concerns and seek help for those who they have perceived to be radicalizing and potentially radicalizing toward violence.”

The individual went on to note that certain options will be available online.

“The relationship between online recruitment, radicalization, and violence”

“Any particular tech company often knows its own platform very well,” the official said. “But the government sees things — actually, threats of violence — across platforms. They see the relationship between online recruitment, radicalization, and violence in the physical world.”

While the official stressed that the administration’s approach would be “agnostic as to political ideology, Biden’s own prior statements on the matter singled out white supremacy — a catch-all label sometimes applied to conservatives in general — as the “most lethal threat to the homeland today.”

During an MSNBC interview in September, Biden went so far as to compare then-President Donald Trump to high-ranking Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels.

Months later, Biden likened much of the Republican Party to the same notorious figure over claims that rampant fraud cost Trump the presidential election, asserting: “Goebbels [said] in the Great Lie — you keep repeating the lie, repeating the lie,” Biden said.

As for his contention that white supremacy is the “most lethal” threat to the U.S., FBI statistics indicate that whites are more likely to be victimized by interracial homicide than they are to be perpetrators.
