Whoopi Goldberg missing from ‘The View’

Whoopi Goldberg, one of the controversial co-hosts of “The View,” is currently missing from the show.

Goldberg was reportedly missing over “a movie she’s making.”

“Gone for a while”

“If you’re wondering where Whoopi is, the girl’s got a movie she’s making, and she will be back when she finishes whatever she’s doing,” co-host Joy Behar said during “The View” on Monday. “So she’s gone for a while.”

Goldberg is reportedly in Scotland as she films Amazon Prime’s upcoming series adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s Anansi Boys, according to People.

Previous absence

The news comes shortly after Goldberg was suspended for two months from “The View” after remarks that the Holocaust was “not about race,” despite Nazi Germany specifically targeting the death of Jewish people over their race.

Goldberg later apologized, saying, “The Jewish people around the world have always had my support and that will never waiver. I’m sorry for the hurt I have caused,” she tweeted.

She was reportedly “livid” over the suspension, threatening to leave the show.

Regardless, ABC News President Kim Godwin was firm.

“Words matter and we must be cognizant of the impact our words have,” Godwin wrote in a memo to employees that dubbed Goldberg’s initial comments “wrong and hurtful.”

The new film project may have led to speculation regarding the co-host’s absence, but her fellow co-hosts have clearly noted Goldberg’s plans to return to her role soon, and has not been canceled yet.
