Evan Rachel Wood quits Twitter after her defense of Rose McGowan ignites firestorm

Westwood star Evan Rachel Wood created waves on social media recently when she defended fellow actress Rose McGowan’s criticism of Democrats for ignoring Tara Reade’s sexual assault allegation against Joe Biden, Fox News reported.

Bucking tinseltown’s left-wing mindset in such public fashion appears to have been a traumatic experience for Wood, however, as she later announced that she was leaving Twitter altogether, according to Breitbart.

“My well-being has to come first”

“This used to be a place where you could control your own narrative,” the performer declared in a tweet that was screenshotted by Breitbart. “Now it has become something else entirely,” she lamented. “I have learned so much from everyone. Good and bad,” Wood added, before concluding:

But my well-being has to come first and all of this darkness and carefully calculated division has taken its toll. So, I will be deactivating my account until further notice. Good luck out there guys. Love to all the loyal followers.

Wood had earlier retweeted a post from McGowan, along with a caption that read simply, “I have to say, this is…spot on.”

In her tweet, McGowan had said that she “used to be a proud Democrat” before leveling criticism at others on the left for turning a blind eye to the accusation made against Biden by Reade, a former Senate staffer.

“Republicans have always been painted as the bad guys, and I’ve always seen them more as a cult, but now I realize so are democrats and the media,” McGowan complained.

Her words were in reaction to the Democratic Party’s continued embrace of Biden, whose presidential nomination appears all but assured.

Reade specifically claims Biden sexually assaulted her in 1993 by pushing her up against a wall and penetrating her with his fingers.

Corroborating evidence builds

As reported by The Hill, the former vice president has denied Reade’s allegation, telling MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski, “I’m saying unequivocally it never, never happened and it didn’t. It never happened.”

However, a clip from 1993 has surfaced of a woman whom Reade has identified as her late mother calling into CNN’s Larry King Live. In it, the woman can be heard discussing the problems of her daughter who experienced “problems” while working for a “prominent senator.”

What’s more, a former neighbor of Reade’s has come forward to say that she was told graphic details about the alleged assault back in the mid-1990s, as Business Insider reports.

Whether additional voices in liberal Hollywood will begin to acknowledge the growing body of evidence in support of Reade’s claims still remains to be seen, but kudos to the few brave souls who already have.
