FBI Dir. Wray says around 70 percent of abortion-related violence and threats are against pro-life side

Democrats and their media allies, to say nothing of President Joe Biden and his Justice Department, have put forward the narrative that pro-life activists have increasingly engaged in violence or threats against pro-abortion activists and clinics and organizations.

That narrative is false, though, as FBI Director Chris Wray testified this week that around 70 percent of all abortion-related violence and threats are perpetrated against pro-life individuals and organizations, The Tampa Free Press reported.

The stunning admission from Wray came Thursday during a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing while being questioned by Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) about the media-created public perception that only the pro-life side of the abortion debate was lashing out with violence and threats.

The majority of violence and threats emanates from the pro-abortion side

Fox News reported that, in response to Sen. Scott’s questions, FBI Director Wray said, “My view — plainly expressed to all of our people, including in the context of abortion-related violence — is that I don’t care what side of the issue you’re on, you don’t get to engage in violence, and we are equal-opportunity when it comes to that.”

“Now, we have quite several investigations — as we speak — into attacks or threats against pregnancy resource centers, faith-based organizations and other pro-life organizations,” he continued.

“And you might be interested to know that since the Dobbs decision, probably in the neighborhood of 70 percent of our abortion-related violence cases or threat cases are cases of violence or threats against pro-life, where the victims are pro-life organizations,” the director revealed.

“And we’re going after that through our joint terrorism task forces, through our criminal authorities, FACE Act, and things like that,” Wray added. “We have about 20 field offices involved in this. And so we take it very seriously. And again, I don’t care if you’re motivated by pro-life views or pro-choice views. You don’t get to use violence to express it.”

Perception is “politicized” DOJ only prosecuting one side

The Washington Examiner reported that Sen. Scott pressed Director Wray on the public perception that the FBI and DOJ had been “politicized” and were “weaponizing” certain laws to harass, arrest, and prosecute pro-life activists while all but ignoring alleged crimes committed by pro-abortion groups and individuals.

Indeed, there has been an overt push by Biden’s DOJ to vigorously prosecute pro-life activists to the fullest extent for little more than protesting too close to an abortion clinic.

Meanwhile, there appears to have been little or no action taken in response to dozens of documented acts of vandalism, violence, and threats against pro-life activists, organizations, and pregnancy resource centers.

Wray says he is “frustrated” by one-sided media reporting

Fox News noted that Scott addressed the disparity in media coverage of abortion-related violence and threats, to which Wray replied, “We don’t have the time for me to tell how frustrated I sometimes get by some of the news reporting about our work and the misreporting of our work.”

“The circumspection that we display with regard to discussing our investigations is based on rules and practices that are important to people having confidence in the integrity of our work and go back decades, multiple administrations,” he added.
