YouTube permanently bans Dan Bongino for attempt to circumvent suspension

YouTube is taking punitive action against another top conservative personality.

According to The Hill, right-wing commentator and former U.S. Secret Service agent Dan Bongino has been permanently banned from the video platform.

“Communists desperately try to save face”

As YouTube explained in a statement, his removal came in response to an attempt by Bongino to circumvent a prior temporary suspension.

“When a channel receives a strike, it is against our Terms of Service to post content or use another channel to circumvent the suspension,” said a company spokesperson.

The source went on to explain that the platform will immediately ban new channels associated with Bongino or his name.

He currently operates a website, Bongino Report, which issued a Twitter statement mocking the YouTube decision.

“Hilarious watching the [YouTube] communists desperately try to save face after we told them to go f%^* themselves,” the tweet asserted. “They’re claiming we ‘tried to evade suspension.’ Really? By posting a final video LITERALLY titled ‘Why I’m Leaving YouTube?'”

“Ban Dan from the platform”

Matt Palumbo, a contributor to the site, addressed the controversy in an article published on Wednesday.

He wrote that Bongingo had been suspended for one week for citing a quote by White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci in which he expressed caution about the efficacy of face masks.

After posting a final video confirming that Bongino would be leaving YouTube to post exclusively on the competing platform Rumble, Palumbo wrote that YouTube “attempted a poorly executed ‘you can’t break up with me if I break up with you first’ approach, and decided to ban Dan from the platform he just left and was never going to post to again.”

Rumble is one of several alternative social media platforms designed in response to the perceived censorship of conservative thought. Bongino is a major investor in the fledgling video site.

Last month, Forbes reported that former President Donald Trump would be partnering with Rumble in developing his own social media company. Business Insider noted that an app for the new platform, known as TRUTH Social, is expected to launch next month.
